Before Cannabis extracts

"The syrinx/cyst in my spine was first discovered in November 2014. It was from C4 to T8 but had broken up. On 19th March 2015 I had a shunt inserted which drained and successfully collapsed the first segment. Following this on 25th March an MRI was performed that showed more extensive syrinx formation within the thoracic cord from T3 to T8.

On 30th September 2015 a comparison MRI was done that showed that the syrinx had increased in size so more surgery was suggested. I started taking Elixinol CBD 100 mg hemp oil in October 2015 and was extremely happy with how pain free I started to feel so I decided to increase the dosage strength to 300 mgs in the hope that I would regain neurological recovery in my legs. Sadly that did not happen, but I remained pain-free and positive. After these encouraging results I felt that with the continued use of the oil it might actually shrink the syrinx in my back so I declined further surgery. My neurosurgeon was in agreement of my decision as to refusing the surgery as there had been no marked deterioration in my condition and I was feeling great. On the other hand my belief that the syrinx would shrink was met with a bowed and shaking head and finger entwined hands.

Ten months later on 19th August 2016, as a monitoring tool, another MRI was performed and it was seen that the syrinx has shrunk in size both in width and in length. It has gone from 10 mm in length to 8 mm and 8 mm in width to 6 mm. This means that there will be no further surgery at this point but that my condition will be monitored for any sudden changes. I would like to believe that the hemp oil is responsible as it is uncanny that after taking it for a year that such a huge improvement has occurred. Considering that the majority ruled on the side of ‘impossible’ I am very happy to have ‘I told you so’ written all over my face.

It goes without saying that I will continue taking the oil as a necessary part of my diet and who knows, by August 2017 when I have my next MRI the remainder of the syrinx may have shrunk further or disappeared. In order to give myself a better chance I have decided to experiment with new improved Elixinol Hemp Oil Liposomes 300 mg – Citrus Twist. With its potential to improve absorption and possibly avoid any nasties in the tummy I am confident that I may well be handing out big slices of humble pie in August 2017."
