About The Medicine(s)
"I mix up high THC and high CBD strains. At the moment I only smoke Cannabis since it's hard to get high quantities for an affordable price here to make oil, without getting arrested. But its something I am considering in the future."

"Since I was 14 years old I had trouble with walking; my skeleton muscles weakened to the point I would get paralyzed. Back then the doctors couldn't figure out what was going on and said I needed to wait and that maybe later they could do more tests; this went on for years. I laid in bed for days, only able to move my head, and these
attacks could last from a few days to more than a week, leaving me with severe muscle weakness "
"When I was around 18 years old I started to take drugs, especially Cannabis. My muscles became less weak, I had almost no attacks anymore but I didn't know anything about my disease, as I wasn't diagnosed until I turned 29 years old. So I joined my father's construction company for many years, still smoking Cannabis daily. Not knowing the Cannabis was the thing that helped me, about the age of 28 I decided to stop smoking Cannabis, and within weeks I was in a state of full paralysis for over ten days. It was then that I got rushed over to the hospital and got tested.
They came to the conclusion I had a muted version of KPP. They tested different medications, some worked a bit but the attacks returned after two weeks, sometimes a month. It left me also with severe muscle weakness so I needed to stop working in construction. It's just since a few years back I started to use Cannabis again and the attacks became almost nonexistant, or the duration is very short. It is just now I made the connections between Cannabis and my years of "remission". My specialist says it's good it helps you but can't support it since its illegal here in Belgium."

Official Diagnosis
"Normokalemic periodic paralysis (Normo-KPP) is thought to be a variant of Hyperkalemic Periodic Paralysis (HyperPP). Some people who suffer from HyperPP have increased levels of potassium in their blood (hyperkalemia) during attacks, while in other cases, attacks are associated with normal blood potassium levels (normokalemia). Ingesting potassium can trigger attacks in affected individuals, even if blood potassium levels do not go up. It has been reported that the potassium-sensitivity in Normo-KPP resembles HyperPP, whereas other features resemble HyperPP. The condition causes episodes of extreme muscle weakness that usually begin in infancy or early childhood. These episodes often involve a temporary inability to move muscles in the arms and legs. Factors that may trigger attacks may include rest after exercise; ingesting potassium-rich foods or drinks; stress; fatigue; fasting; and/or exposure to cold temperatures. Muscle strength generally improves between attacks, although many affected people continue to have mild stiffness (myotonia) in some muscles." Patient
