"In 2011 I was diagnosed with Stage II Hodgkin's Lymphoma that started in my chest then traveled to my neck. I had eight months of BEACOPP Chemotherapy (Bleomycin, Etoposide, Adriamycin, Cyclophosphamide, Oncovin-Vincristine, Procarbazine & Prednisone). At the end of my chemo I had 2.5 weeks of daily radiation therapy. I was in remission for 4.5 years.
In April 2016 I found a lump in my submandibular region (salivary gland) which was diagnosed as Mucoepidermoid carcinoma, a result of having radiation therapy in 2011. I had surgery to remove 30 lymph nodes, the tumour, one saliva gland and tissue from my neck. I then had six weeks of radiation therapy. Two weeks after radiation therapy I found a new lump, had it biopsied and it came back as the same cancer, Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma. When they PET scanned me they found it had already spread to the other side of my neck. They said the only option was an enormous surgery where I would have a double neck dissection, the floor of my mouth removed, skin and muscle graft taken from my thigh muscle, the nerve that controls my tongue removed, the nerve that controls my bottom lip removed and a permanent breathing and feeding tube inserted. I refused this surgery and turned to Cannabis Oil. They sent me home to die and linked me to palliative care."
