Medication(s) prior to Cannabis

"After a horrific near-death car accident in October 2006, I was on opiates and pharmaceuticals for over 10 years. I went thru 15 surgeries in 10 years and that's a hard thing to do without pain pills. I did not smoke weed, drink, party, none of it growing up. Before my accident I went to school, got my degree, married, had children, a career; I was a "soccer mom" who believed Cannabis was the Devil's Lettuce. Unfortunately these medications destroyed my body and have left me with a mind that I struggle with every second of the day. While on pharmaceuticals I was stuck away in my bedroom for years, bloated, tired, sluggish, foggy headed, confused, obese at 410 lbs, out of shape, horrible health, Type 2 diabetes, not involved in my family's life, lost all my friends but a very few, my own relatives called me a drug addict and distanced from me. It was an awful existence, but what's so scary, is I didn't realize just how bad it was, until I came out of my opiate fog last year. "

"I began I getting cannabis oil in May 2015 by ingesting a half grain of rice size with a spoonful of peanut butter. After three months of this micro-dosing, we learned the body absorbs the Cannabis Oil better if it's mixed with a carrier oil. We began making capsules mixed with flaxseed oil. We learned that the flaxseed binds with the Cannabis Oil and made it water soluble. We continued this for about six months until my body healed even further and changed a bit. The further along I get from detoxing, the more conditions pop up; things left from years of pharmaceuticals in my body. At my highest during immediate detox I got up to ingesting 3 grams of oil a day. We believe that could have been less if we had originally been informed to mix with a carrier oil so the uptake is better thru the blood barrier in the liver. I'm 14 months clean from opiates now and am ingesting approximately one gram of oil a day in capsule form, eating four medible cookies a day, smoke about three times a day and still use my topicals regularly."

Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome

Treated With Cannabis Extracts

"My husband worked with a gal whose husband had reduced his amount of opiates by beginning a cannabis regimen. After I began smoking a bit, we learned of another friend who had recently opened a cannabis medical dispensary in our area with his family. We tried a topical they suggested and the quick results were amazing. Within a few minutes I could feel the blood circulating and my arm and hand getting warm. And, within about 10 minutes, I was starting to have relief for the pins, needles, itching and burning nerve pain I have constantly. From there we started ingesting cannabis oil and eventually started learning how to make my own medicine. There's so much information out there I was overwhelmed, so I took to social media. I began networking and building a community of Cannabis Warriors that I can now turn to with questions about strains, recipes and so much more. Many of these people I now call my extended family. The friendships, relationships and compassion of others as they try to help me heal; is amazing. About 70% of the people I meet in the Cannabis industry are genuine and want to help others. They put their lives and livelihoods on the line to help us heal and I'm thankful everyday for their sacrifices. "

In Her Own Words

"After beginning to smoke a little Cannabis in October of 2014, I started noticing a bit of improvement. Next we tried a topical; wow, what relief for my nerve pain and within just minutes. We knew we were onto something and decided to start having me ingest Cannabis Oil in May of 2015.

After only two months I was able to get off the 1,500 mg of Metformin; my diabetes was gone (I'm supposed to say "in remission), and within only three months I was off all opiates (including Oxycontin, Percocet and nerve medication Gabapentin). I was working again within only three months, and I had not worked in 15 years! I dropped 100 lbs in less than a year from Cannabis and plant healing; a total loss so far of 193 lbs.

Now I'm sleeping for 4 - 5 hrs at a time; it used to be 2 - 3 hrs. I'm treating my conditions every day, all day, with Cannabis. I'm out and about living and thriving now because of Cannabis. My youngest daughter recently said, "Mom, you're a much better mom on Cannabis than you ever were on pills." Right there is how I know it was all worth it. My girl's have their mom again, my family has me back and I can now share my healing story with others so they learn there's an alternative to pharmaceuticals.

I now ingest Cannabis Oil capsules, eat medibles, use topicals and smoke on a daily basis. I have asthma so I try to vape since it's easier on my lungs. I have kept a pain and cannabis journal from the beginning, which has helped me IMMENSELY when figuring out what has worked or how I need to change things up a bit, my body is still healing and will for years. The very best way I can describe what cannabis did was bring homeostasis to my body. One by one the meds and supplements fell away, week by week."

Official Diagnoses

"I use cannabis on a daily basis throughout my day. Currently I make Cannabis Oil capsules weekly, apply topicals multiple times a day and I eat medibles as needed for breakthrough pain; just as I used a Percocet before. I also smoke off and on as needed to keep my pain, anxiety, PTSD, facial tic, shoulder tic and PAWS quieted. I have learned to make my own infused coconut oil to add in my food and make medibles with. I am constantly trying different strains to see what will work best. My tics are made worse by some terpenes, which is another reason for the pain journal; I can tailor make my medicine just for me. "

"This has been a very painful, expensive and exhausting process; but I wouldn't change it for the world. Cannabis has given me my life back; my girls have their mom and my family and friends can't believe the shocking difference in just months. I was stuck in a chronic condition and shape, shut away for 10 years and out of touch with the world. Coming out of my opiate fog can be compared to a butterfly transforming out of its cocoon. My life has changed 180 degrees in just the last year. I sleep at least half the night now which is a huge improvement, I'm out of the house socializing and am able to be a cannabis activist now, sharing my story on a daily basis.

This journey has brought thought processes and people into my life I never would have met, if it wasn't for Cannabis. This whole experience has given me more compassion for those who have experienced trauma and pain, gotten addicted to a substance and also an understanding for why people relapse. I was able to experience my first Seattle Hempfest and Portland Hempstalk festivals; both of which were amazing and I had never experienced anything Iike it in my life. They were the most peaceful, non-threatening and joyous festivals I've ever been to. It breaks my heart that there are millions who still think like I did, all because our government has lied to them too. I share my journey every day through National publications, podcasts, daily journaling in social media, live video feeds and now a soon-releasing documentary looking at our nation's opiate crisis. I want to remove the fear and stigma that comes along with cannabis and let others feel comfortable even just asking questions for goodness sakes.

I want to be the bridge between Cannabis Warriors who've been healing themselves and others for years, and those newbies who have now chosen to heal themselves with an alternative medicine. Doctors are not going to walk us thru thus, so we use share with and educate each other. Cannabis isn't for everybody, but everybody should have the opportunity to use it if the choose so."
